The Seed of an Idea ~
Books and plants have always felt like natural companions to me. I’ve spent my career helping children discover the joy of learning, curiosity, and growth. At the same time, I’ve found that caring for plants brings many of those same feelings into everyday life—patience, wonder, learning, and connection.
I wanted to create a space where people could slow down, explore, and be inspired. Books help us grow our minds, while plants remind us to nurture living things and ourselves. Bringing them together felt like a perfect way to celebrate lifelong learning, creativity, and growth in all its forms.
Like the books and plants it celebrates, Books & Botanicals grew from a tiny seed of an idea into a dream come to life.
Growing Something More ~
I felt our community was missing a place that encouraged people to linger, discover, and reconnect with simple joys. So much of modern life feels rushed, digital, and transactional. I wanted to create something different—a warm, welcoming space where people could browse a good book, find a beautiful plant, ask questions, learn something new, and leave feeling a little lighter than when they arrived.
My hope is that Books & Botanicals inspires people to read more, grow more, and make room for curiosity in their lives. Whether someone walks away with a novel, a houseplant, or simply a meaningful conversation, I want them to feel welcomed, encouraged, and reminded that growth—both personal and literal—happens one page and one leaf at a time.

That means growing intellectually, growing emotionally, growing as a member of the community, and sometimes just growing a really beautiful plant.

Every book and plant at Books & Botanicals is chosen with intention. I look for books that spark curiosity, inspire conversation, tell meaningful stories, or help people learn something new. I believe reading has the power to broaden perspectives, build empathy, and encourage lifelong learning.
When it comes to plants, I focus on varieties that bring beauty, joy, and confidence to plant lovers of all experience levels. Whether someone is purchasing their very first houseplant or adding to a growing collection, I want them to find something they can successfully care for and enjoy.
